Smadar (Sam)
I am a wife, a mother of 4, a Locksmith (Yes!) & an entrepreneur.
I was born in Israel, 1979, raised in South Florida more than half my life, my mother, also Israeli, her parents came to Israel from Morocco.
My Father, 4th generation born in Israel on his mother's side I am the 5th generation.
My Grandfather on my Father's side came from Suria, My mother in law is from Turkey, You can say I am a Middle Eastern mix of cultures...
Creative Cooking
Cooking has been always a part of my life, I was the oldest child of 3, my parents separated when I was 15, it wasn't pretty, many times I would take care of my siblings, cooking was a big part.
I learned lots of my cooking from my mother, Moroccan colorful happy colors with strong flavors and very festive.
My Turkish mother in law made sure (yes she did!! lol) on the first year of our marriage that I know all the recipes she had in her old handwritten cook book, lots of dough recipes, amazing Turkish dishes & sweets.
Jewish Life
I am Jewish, I keep Shabbat & keep a kosher home.
I am not orthodox, I do not cover my hair, I do not dress by the religious "code", I try to be good, think good and do good, I enjoy the beautiful things this life has to offer. I try to see beauty in everything, I spend a lot of my time by the ocean, Florida has lots of it wherever you go. It's one of the reasons Florida is one of the most beautiful places in the world, I feel extremely lucky to be living here.
I try to make every minute count, I am always doing something, keeping busy, not interested in wasting a minute, I read books regularly, I love learning new things and I love to teach what I have learned.
